Editorial Policy
The reader’s decision comes first. Advertising never purchases a ranking, conclusion, or favorable comparison.
Accuracy and authorship
Every page identifies its editorial source, update date, and supporting references where factual claims require them. We distinguish editorial estimates from official program limits and manufacturer specifications.
The organizational byline describes accountability for the publication; it is not a professional license. We name a technical reviewer only when that person has reviewed the specific material and authorized publication of the name and relevant credential. Until then, no page is marketed as contractor-, engineer-, or tax-professional-reviewed.
Original value and publication threshold
A page must do more than restate search results. It should provide a decision sequence, comparison table, reproducible calculation, diagnostic record, bid checklist, or another concrete tool that changes what the reader can verify. Closely overlapping ideas are combined or linked rather than published as many near-duplicate pages.
We do not publish a guide merely because a phrase has search volume. If available evidence cannot support a useful distinction, the subject stays out of the library. Current work prioritizes improving existing calculators, examples, source quality, and maintenance over increasing page count.
Use of AI
Automation may assist with outlines, consistency checks, calculations, or editing. A human editor remains responsible for the published page, its sources, its limitations, and its final wording. We do not use automation to invent field tests, credentials, quotes, prices, or personal experience.
AI output is not treated as a source. Factual claims still need a responsible external source or must be labeled as editorial reasoning. Drafts are checked for duplicated structure, unsupported certainty, unsafe instructions, mismatched geography, stale program details, and numerical contradictions before publication.
Updates and corrections
Time-sensitive pages are revisited when a known standard, tax year, incentive administrator, refrigerant rule, or product requirement changes. A visible date represents a substantive research or content check, not an automated date refresh.
Readers can report a correction with the exact claim and supporting source. We reproduce the issue, revise material errors, and record changes that affect the public calculator model. We do not remove an accurate limitation or negative conclusion in exchange for payment or access.
Advertising and affiliate relationships
The site may display advertising or earn a commission from qualifying referrals. Those relationships will be disclosed near affected recommendations and do not change the price paid by the reader. Sponsored material will be labeled clearly.
