Each article lists its update date and supporting sources. Where a calculation uses an editorial range rather than an official price database, the page labels that limitation and tells readers which local inputs should replace it.
Our review process
Before publication, an editor checks the search intent, calculations, internal consistency, source links, safety boundaries, and whether the conclusion follows from the stated assumptions. Time-sensitive pages are rechecked when tax rules, rebate programs, efficiency standards, or refrigerant requirements change.
We prefer government agencies, recognized standards organizations, program administrators, utilities, and official manufacturer documentation. We do not invent field tests, professional credentials, contractor quotations, or personal ownership experience.
